rlatjsrud---You mean your shutter count is 17,560 and you think it should be less (<) than 17,560?

1. How did you see that your shutter count was 17,560? Download the program "PhotoME" (it is free download) to confirm what your shutter count is. Use a recent photo. What do you get for a shutter count?

2. What do you think your shutter count should be? (your estimate)

So you shot 17,560 times. Don`t worry about the shutter life specification, keep clicking till it dies, then send it in for repair.

Cheers.

So your shutter broke? Or is your image file sequence off (that's normal)?

You can check your shutter could by uploading a photo here (straight from your camera): Check Shutter Count & Camera Manufacture Date Online - EXIF Reader

Don't worry about the number until it breaks. I have a body with 260,000 on it. (not a pentax though)

Nope, not in camera by you, that would be like rolling back the odometer.

Why do you want to change the shutter count? Are you wanting to sell your camera?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Your shutter should be able to do 100,000 or more.
