Sunpac Flash?

Can an 80's vintage Sunpac flash be used with the K5?

Search for flash trigger voltage plus the exact model and check the trigger voltage. E.g. Photo Strobe Trigger Voltages might help.

If the trigger voltage is too high, you run the risk of frying your camera electronics; you can prevent that with something like a Wein SafeSync (e.g. this) that will prevent frying from happening.

You can also test it with a voltmeter, (Recommended procedure, despite what listings say: it's not really worth risking an expensive camera for an older flash. )

'The 80's' is actually the period of time where you can still find some pretty high trigger voltages, though especially if it's a 'dedicated' unit, there's a decent chance of good news. Best to be sure, though.

I've seen the suggestion that the voltage meter used for testing should be a digital meter rather than an analog meter for the sake of accuracy.
