k-5 popup flash in manual mode?

Hola
Is there a way to fire the k-5's integrated flash in manual mode? Am I missing the menu setting or it does not exist?

the goal is to avoid/skip the pre-flash

I'm really sorry if it is discussed before, but I could not find straight answer.

regards!

This is one of the biggest limits with the on board flash. There is only limited P-TTL and no manual flash mode.

TTL support would be nice, but it hasn't been there since the *ist DS2 unfortunately

The K-5 is not the only camera without manual control of the on board flash. There is a trick you can use to not get the P-TTL preflash. It is a more advanced trick as you have to have the correct kind of lens and understand how to control it. If you use a lens that is not an auto aperture lens when you use the on board flash it will use a single full power flash. You can't us a DA lens as they all are auto aperture. You need a lens that you can take off auto (A mode) like a FA, M, K or a third party lens.

I got few good manual lenses now, and I have again question about popup flash.

It seems to me that no matter the metering, the popup flash is always using the same power, can somebody confirm that to stop my wondering about it?

the lens used is manual lens 35mm f3.5 K lens

With a manual lens the onboard flash will put out a full power flash only. This is so you can use the camera guide number and set the aperture to match the flash and dissidents.
