I'm sure you're correct. All recent lenses by any major manufacturer will have a good modern coating system on their glass. I only mentioned Pentax's SMC as an example. The basics still remain the same. UV(O) - basically clear glass of Optical quality, and multi-coated to protect from flare etc.

FYI-I ended up getting the 77mm Hoya UV (C). They told me in the camera store that the C replaced the 0 version. Anyway, everywhere I went locally-all the camera stores also recommended the Hoya as the best one
