*ist D black picures?

My *ist D was working fine one day, and stopped the next. When i snap a picture the shutter clicks and everything, but it just shows a black photo. I saw other threads with a similar topic, but no one got a clear answer. Does anyone know what is wrong or how to fix this?

Usually the answer is that your camera has shit the bed. However, it could also be that there simply wasn't enough light for the shutter speed and aperture combination chosen.
