K7 dropped

Unfortunately my K7 somehow disconnected from my Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens. Right on the concrete. Seems to still be working minus one thing. The front e-dial seems to have stopped working. The e-dial on the grip still works, but camera one, not so much. Anyone have any suggestions other than sending it it? Dial still actually turns, just doesn't seem to have any effect.

I used to dip some penetrating oil on Kodak P880 P&S's shutter release button to temporally ease the bad luck. If you don't mind then probably try that. Don't use WD40! They are bad for cameras. I bought my oil from a gun shop. Since your camera dropped then it might be broken inside. I think it is not worthy to spend money to repair it. Just keep using it the way it is.

The good news is that I've been wanting a K5, so this may just be the excuse I need, then just keep the K7 as backup. Didn't want to spend the money now, but maybe no choice.

the K-7 front e-dial is a warrenty issue for some (including mine), it had not worked properly since I got it, took it in for service 10mts after purchase and 15,000 shots later (way to busy to do it earlier) and they still replaced it free of charge. my guess if it dosen't look droped, take it in and see how you go.

Those techs. are not stupid. Physical damage is not covered under warranty.

Damage is obvious. It would be hard to pull the wool over a techs eyes in this case.
