Ok so finally took the camera into Pentax Repair as no matter how much I cleaned contacts etc. the fault (normal shot/ dark shot @ same settings) would come back soon after (real annoying).

They told me it was the Aperture Control Arm Block that the fault was the arm was sticking and therefore would not always open the lens aperture between shots.

Repair quoted @ $118 and I will hopefully get it back this week sometime.
