It's been a while since I've done it, but if I would I would take my GRD IV and my K-5 with 21mm ltd. I wish the 21mm had faster aperture.
I'm thinking about getting a film camera just for that. Something like Contax G2 with 28mm + 35mm and 45mm lenses.
Or maybe and much more likely a Pentax manual body and 43mm ltd, which I already own.

A24-50 F4

And most importantly a friend with a camera. Makes a world of difference in so many ways.

Interesting.... One day when I have realised my ambition to own all the good A lenses I'll have to try this.

For some reason I feel the need to add an evil laugh...

The main reason I love that lens is because it goes from entire street corner to portrait so easily and it covers the whole range necessary for both APSC and FF.

And as far as A's go I have every zoom lens worth getting and the 24-50 F4 was the most expensive though still under $200 shipped though I forget by how much and it was like new in the box still. There are one or two others that are good but they overlap what I have which are the better ones anyways. Each one does something that the rest can't do so all are necessary, though the A35-105 F3.5 will be my #1 lens again if pentax gives us a FF DSLR, its a bit narrow at 35mm for me otherwise.
The primes get fantastically expensive and rare though so I only have the A50mm 1.4 which is wonderful on FF but rather too narrow on APSC though I use it for its speed alot. the 35mm F2 is or 28mm F2 is next on my list but they cost a lot and don't come up for sale that often these days.

I just spent a year in Manchester (UK) and my preferred walk arounds were usually a Chinon 28/ 2.8 and an M42 Zenitar 17mm fish eye. I would trade the 28 for something like an 18-55 Pentax zoom every once in a while but since I prefer primes for city stuff, it wasnt every often.

Good grief, where is it you stay in the US?

It sounds awful to have to live under that kind of threat.
