Welcome to Pentax Forums shifter,

Yes it should work fine with your camera.

If there's a little wheel on it close to the camera with several different numbers such as 4.5 and 5.6 and what not you'll want this to be on the A setting.
You'll have to press a button on that wheel somewhere to move it the final notch.

You have a nice little camera, and that's a decent lens for the price.
So you should have fun with it and get several good pictures.

That does not appear to be the "APO" version, so it won't offer the best performance of that series of lens.

If you aren't picking up the "APO" version, Might I suggest the Tamron 70-300 Di LD?

AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD 1:2 Macro; Tamron USA, Inc.

This was the first lens I picked up about a year after buying my IST DL w/ the 18-55mm lens kit. I managed to snag it for $130.00 USD approx w/ shipping and though I do not have the lens anymore, I was very satisfied with the quality of images it had produced. It's also considered as a 1:2 Macro lens, so if you're looking to get some good macro shots check out the above noted lens as well.

Happy shooting!

If you do any indoor shooting, you please do yourself the favor of considering the Pentax SMCP-FA 50mm f/1.4 lens. I bought a "general purpose" 18-250 DA lens with my k10D and it is great for a wide zoom range, but I recently bought the 1.4 lens to shoot indoors without flash. I like this lens so much, that it is the one that stays on my camera. It is so versatile. I am so enthusiastic about the results, I have been telling everyone who will listen.

The Tamron equivalent of this lens is currently selling for 69.99 in the sale at Warehouse Express - Specials - warehouseexpress.com. There are plenty threads about it here - just do a search. It's widely used and most people agree it's performance is good for the price (even at it's normal price of around 110).
