could someone tell/point me to the method of setting the white balance manually with a coffee lid as I am having trouble finding one that tells the whole Technic in the search. K10D. I never use it enough to remember how it is done

Usually in the same grocery isle...

This coffe thing is a great idea. I've found it works better than the lid off of a Nestle Quick container that has a deep yellow plastic lens; almost matching the Pentax (yellow) K-01.

Fn button
Left Button to select White Balance Menu
Put cursor over the next to last item for White Balance Manual, then hit the Right Button to dive in
put lid over lens, point in the direction you'll shoot
press shutter button to take a picture
use the rear wheel to select either the entire screen or a portion of the screen that best represents your white area
OK button
