Mushkin 32gb Class 10 mknsdhcc10-32gb Slow write times

Recently purchased the above memory card. Up until now I posessed the following cards: 16gb Class 6 Transcend, 8gb Class 4 Kingston, 2gb Transcend 150x (no class listed). In a test of write speeds I consistently timed the following using Manual Mode, Continuous shooting of 15 frames, (the most frames possible before slowing down due to buffer), 1/640, f4.0, Manual focus, camera not moved and shooting with artificial lighting. The camera has the latest version,1.04, and fresh battery. Each card was tested 5 times and each test was performed with a freshly formatted card. Timing till buffer was empty is as follows:
  1. 2gb Transcend 150x took 35 seconds
  2. 8gb Class 4 Kingston took 40 seconds
  3. 8gb Class 6 Transcend card took 35 seconds
  4. 32gb Class 10 Mushkin took 65 seconds
I was expecting better results from the Mushkin due to the claimed class. Has anyone else experienced slow write times with Mushkin? What is the fastest card to pair with the K-20D? Are there any sites with test data?
Thanks for reading and replying.

Maybe the slowness is being caused by the fact that the card is so big? Or, because class 10 cards are rated for 10Mb/sec non-fragmented write speeds, whereas class 6 are rated for 6Mb/sec fragmented write speeds. So, if you format all your cards and try the text again, you should see the 32Gb card do better.

Many high-end cards are much faster than class 10- for example, that Transcend card will do about 30Mb/s.

Transcend uses the 150x rating and that's a more accurate rating.
133x = 20 MB/s
150x = 22.5 MB/s
200x = 30 MB/s

So it could do 27MB/s but probably not 30MB/s because it would have been labelled 200x then.
