K-5 LCD Issue

I have a K-5 and have noticed lately that sometimes after taking a picture the playback button will not work and I can't view the picture I just took. If I turn the camera off and on again the playback button works fine. This has happened several times now and I'm wondering if it's an indication that something's about to fail. Has anyone else seen this and have any suggestions on how to fix it?

I've also noticed occasionally that it will not recognize a lens when attached. First it was my Sigma 17-70 but I've since seen it happen on my FA50 1.4.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian , I've had my K5 for a couple of months . I haven't had exactly the same problem but quite frequently when I'm running back through shots I sometimes can't get back to the previous shot , nothing happens when I try. I have to come out of play back and go back in . Its not a big problem but like you I'm a bit worried that it could be the sign of a bigger one in the future

I can be caused by dust or send jaming shutter button. Try to clean it.

I often have the same issue, but pressing the playback button again always works. Oddly, the same thing happened on my k-x. I just assumed I had hit the button a little early and the camera was still processing something.

I have heard that if a button is acting funny, "exercising" it repeatedly and firmly with the camera off can clear whatever was wrong. Have not tried that on the play back button but it did work on a sticking shutter button on the k-x.

I just encountered that problem today for the first time.
Very shortly afterward the camera died.
DEAD BATTERY. It had been in since October and I never checked it.
I put in a fresh battery and all is well again.
