Help: How to dismantling K-R

The LCD on my Pentax K-r has been broken. As I have no warranty I want to change it by myself.

I found a video at

Dismantling K100D :)

But unfortunately the dismantling of the K-r is different. I allready removed the top and the bottom but the back - cover cannot be removed. Have heard that the whole plastic shell has to be removed?

Has anybody dismantled a K-R or K-X?

Do you mean the outer LCD cover or the actual LCD? If it's just the cover, you can pry it off with a sharp cutter and stick a new one on. It's only double-side taped.

Actually I mean the actual LCD. But it is also interesting for me that there exists a outer LCD cover? Does it mean there is a glass pane in front of the actual LCD that can be changed?

To change that outer LCD cover I have to pry the frame?

If you mean the actual LCD panel is smashed, then the back will have to come off. But I would be very surprised the outer protector is still intact. Since I don't have the K-r, I am unable to provide a set-by-step instruction.
