Corrupted folder

I gather from some research I need to reformat the SD card in the camera and troubleshoot if it's a bad card. The default I guess is it makes a new folder for each day. I've got one day's worth of photos I can't access on the computer. I've tried the card in the computer slot initially, then tried it with the camera hooked up directly to the PC via the USB cable. Same problem. The whole folder is corrupted and won't access it to see any files within that folder. I can see them perfectly fine on the camera when scrolling through. These are .jpg files as most of the shots are family use and not shot in raw. I have run the Odboso photo retrieval program and it found a boatload of deleted photos I have no use for but didn't pull up any of the current photos in the file folder the computer won't read. Any ideas other than just losing the pics? The files themselves I suppose are okay because I view them on the camera with no problems; just can't find a way to get them to the PC.

As a last ditch effort, you may want to try this. Using windows explorer, delete all the folders, not he individual files on the card. Then use 'Recuva' to recover the files to another drive. Many recover programs ignore files they perceive to be available normally. Don't forget, it's important to recover the files to a drive, not to the sd card to prevent overwriting of files not yet recovered.

Any progress?

If you have another SD card (same size) and a Windoze computer, you might try a Diskcopy. If your plug-in or cardreader drive is M: (for example) you would run DISKCOPY M: M: /V. Then try reading the copy. Good luck!
