The coatings of todays with Pentax at least are pretty dirt repellent so those water marks should come of very easily so not a slightly moist cloth often does wonders.
Just don't start to rub/polish the lens, just wipe it and nothing more.
Dust and other little things are best simply blown away.
Also don't use any cleaning liquid unless your sure it's safe, i doubt the coatings are make to withstand acid for example.

I sometimes use washing soap to degrease (grease hold the dirt so) the lens but im not sure that is 100% safe to use.
About those water marks, that most likely lime and something like white vinegar works wonders on that but i'm very reluctant to put that on my lenses...

Maybe someone with more knowledge about the coating can help, i believe i had looked it up once what it precisely was. Will try to look it up tomorrow.

ps. in basic the glasses you wear will have the same kind of coatings, so cleaning should be just the same
