"worth" has a personal component, as in what is it worth to you. Nobody else can say for sure what it is worth to you to get a lens fixed.
There are 3 different versions of FA 28-105 and they usually go for $100 to $200 depending on condition. The f/3.2-4.5 generally commands a higher price and only comes up occasionally. So this is not a dirt cheap, shows on ebay everyday lens, but it is replaceable. You can also check KEH to see if they have any in stock. If you have a local repair shop take it in for a quote and see what they say. If cost of repair is more than $100 I think you are better off putting that toward a new lens if you shoot digital, the DA 18-135 has similar but broader range and better IQ. If film, then maybe I would think about it a little harder. That's my opinion but like I said only you can judge what amount you can afford to spend.
