Kr / K30 stupid question ?

hI - I have a k-r, I am on vacation and there is a K30 with the 18-135 lens for sale. I was wondering if my batteries will work for both? and if my AA adapter will work on both. I would be purchasing it from a Drug store, and I don' know that the sales person will be able to answer my questions. I am going home in the morning back to a town without a Pentax dealer for miles, I am 99.9% sure that it my next camera. if anybody knows please let me know. I have ony had my Kr for 10 months and have over 20,000 photos but I am pretty sure I am still a beginner. (that is why I posted here ) thank you

The K-r and K-30 both use the same LI-109 batteries, but I'm not sure about the AA adapters

Yes, the K-R's battery will work for the K-30, and vice versa. They've both using the D-Li109. In regards to the AA adapter, it *should* work, but don't quote me on that.

Best of luck with the new camera!

Keep in mind that this is a new model with no track record yet, and by the sound of it, you will have no warranty(!!)

I'd think long and hard about this. You would probably be safer to order one online from a reputable and authorized dealer, than to try your luck at a drug store where you have no recourse, and at a distant location.

I don't know why I would not have warrenty? wouldn't the warranty be through Pentax?

and thank you thank you for the info on the battery and adapter.

As far as I know, you only have warranty protection if you buy through an authorized dealer. I'd be a bit surprised if a drug store falls into this group.

Yes it was London Drugs, and I got the last one in Prince George, with the 18-135mm for 1220.00. and so far so good! I LOVE IT!

I have bought plenty of photo gear (cameras, lenses etc.) from London Drugs.

Obviously the quality of the sales staff will vary from store to store, but the one I shop at the sales people are all photographers. Some even shoot Pentax.

They are an authorized dealer, and are often one of the first brick and mortar stores to carry the new gear.

I would describe London Drugs as a micro Wallmart, but with helpful knowledgeable staff.

Sorry I have know idea about the OP's battery question, but I thought I would throw some props out for "just a drug store"

thanks - I hope so too. I thought the learning curve would be not to bad coming from a Kr- but the colour on this one is way out there. Pinks almost glow.. and skin tones are way off?? puzzled ... I reset to the default settings just incase the store had them all out, but it didn't seem to help.
hope I can figure it out in the settings.

do you know if I should be formatting my memory card for this camera? would that have anything to do with it?

It's unlikely that the memory card has anything to do with it. From what you describe, it sounds like a white balance issue. Is it set on AWB?
