K20D water damage

Dunked my K20D in a mountain stream for just a couple seconds, and after all the usual methods meant to dry it out - blow dryer, rice, took it in for repair. The shop said there was a bit of corrosion in one area, so they sent it to Pentax repair in Arizona. Has anyone had any luck with this same situation? The good - the camera still read the SD card and everything to the left of the LCD screen still worked. The bad - the shutter and the dials next to it would not work. Now it is at the mercy of the pros.

I've found that most memory cards can be retrieved (some even completely) even when the memory card is fully immersed in most any water; hot tub, even salt water.

But as for the camera... Did you happen to notice which area(s) of the camera the water hit? You stated it was dunked, but how so please?

Did it effect only towards the based plate; towards the front; or did the entire camera go under?

Entire camera went under. I was standing in shallow water, but slipped. It was only wet for a couple seconds, and water was fairly clean, but still did some damage.

I've had the circuit board around the shutter button and controls replaced. It wasn't water damage, but the camera came back from the repair and works great.

If it went to C.R.I.S. they most likely have just now had a chance to check it out.
