help please

Hi I am a relative novice and need some help with an issue I have please.....I am using a K10d with a tamron 70-300mm lens, I have recently bought a komura telemore 95 ii 7.k.m.o. converter. When i put it on the camera and attach the lens it flashes a F on the display....what dpes this mean please and how can i get rid of it ?

it means the TC is for full manual use and doesn't transmit the info from the contacts. Essentially you will need to treat the lens as an m or k lens from a metering shooting standpoint when using the TC

You will need to go into the menu and set enable use of aperture ring to yes

It means the teleconverter does not pass through the lens information to the body. I don't believe that Tamron has an aperture ring, so you can't even use it in manual mode unless you want only minimum aperture. You need to find a teleconverter with A contacts and autofocus if you would like that to work too.

the tamron does have an aperture ring if it is this one

I'm not aware of another 70-300 from Tamron (they made some older 75-300 models)

I guess I've been misled by the online stores using the same picture for every mount of the lens.

as i said i am a novice and hadn't even realized i had to accept an aperture ring , but it has worked and I can now use the TC thank you very much for the assistance greatly appreciated

now that you have that down you'll be tempted by all the wonderful cheap old lenses it allows you to use. LBA is in your future
