Help,K200D LCD no image s release stage 1

Help, just received a used Pentax K200D from a reputable ebay seller, not able to get LCD to preview shot with shutter release at stage 1. Does show picture in LCD after shutter operates. Following instructions in owners manual, seems very straight forward.

LCD works for all other functions.

Please help me determine if a user error or functional problem with the camera.

Thank you,

Den2

Preview is done by moving the lever past on position. Half press of shutter will focus but not preview an image.

If camera is not working as expected first try resetting all functions to factory default using the menu option.

I think op is referring to preview. I see the little preview ring on the switch so I'm assuming it has one?
My k10d did.

A half press of the shutter release button will only bring up the display in the LCD panel on top of the camera not the LCD Monitor on the back. As was mentioned, the K200D does not have Live View.

K200d Thanks everyone, new to DSL No live preview.

Everyone,

Thank you, for your responses, jumped from old 35mm Spotmatic F to the K200D. Have a lot to learn.

Great clarification, preview is not live preview. Awesome! That is a huge relief.

Next question is what is the best screw to bayonet lens adapter for Pentax, Vivitar/ Zeis lenses?

For M42 the correct one is the style that sits flush with the mount and usually requires a separate tool to attach/remove.

Best option is the Pentax version, but it costs much more vs eBay knockoffs.

There is another style that has a flange that sits on top of the mount but that version will not give you infinity focus on screw mount lenses.

Not sure of your location but this is the Pentax adapter you should look for (currently on back order at B&H).
