Help in recognizing fungus

I have recently bought my Vivitar 75-300 with A contact. And I discovered an object reminding me fungus. There are photos with this object in center:

Please, tell me who knows, is that a fungus or just a single hair?

It could be either, but I think it is just a bit of fiber, not fungus. Just my opinion from looking at the images, hard to be positive without having it in hand. But fungus normally has multiple strands, not a single long one, and that looks like it is 3-d implying it is not all attached to the glass as fungus would be.

The fungus I've seen looks more like a creeping growth and spider web.

I agree with a piece of fiber. If it is on the inside of the lens, probably left there by someone cleaning the glass on the inside.... and why would that happen? Is there any sign that the lens might have been opened before?

Just a fiber or hair, don't worry about it.

thanks guys I've worried about returning it back to previous owner.

PS: good lens for its price (I've bought for $25)

It won't have any effect whatsoever.
