Sigma 10-20mm focus ring question

I recently acquired a 10-20mm f3.5 and while I was fiddling around with it last night I noticed that after putting it into manual focus the focus ring turns past the minimum focus distance and past the infinity mark when going either way. I have never had a lens that does this meaning that all my previous lenses have had a clear stopping point on both ends. Is this normal behavior for this lens?

I believe all modern sigma lenses are like this. The ring will continue turning but doing so has no effect on the focus.

I believe that is correct. I noticed the same behavior before I sold it but after talking to a friend who has one he told me his behaved the same way. My Pentax 16-45 has a stopping point.

Good enough! Thanks for the responses. I have been using mostly older manual focus stuff up to this point so this behavior was different for me.
