For landscapes, I invariably wind up using my Sigma 17-70 mm or Sigma 10-20 mm. For "street" photography, the 17-70. After years of shooting only primes in the film days, I like the versatility of a fast zoom over a good prime.

Ok thank you very much for your time ... since I'm new to this forum and photography in general - it's always good to hear some advice.
I think I made up my mind and I'll stick with the 35mm macro - it's not too wide not tooooo tele and I read great reviews about it ...
I only considered the 40 mm ltd because of its FF support ... but a FF camera is just a speculation ...
thank ya'll again and see you around!

My first Ltd lens was the 35mm, like I said great all around lens.....but watch out, the Ltd series (15, 21, 40, 70) can suck you in very easily. Don't say I didn't warn you

Looking forward to seeing your photography with the 35mm

If you are looking at the different primes and not sure of the focal length you want, go out a couple times with a kit zoom and then run exposure plot, see what you use the most. All of the lenses you are looking at are good, just find the length you want first.

Nearly everything I do is on my FA35, which includes street and concert photography. Check my blog in my signature.

Here's a recent pic:
