Viewfinder level off

Hi! I have a K-5. I have noticed in recent months that my photos have a chronic
tilt to the level: my pictures tend to run downhill to the right!
I don't remember the camera doing this in the past.
Now, two things may have affecte this.
About a year ago I changed the focusing screen.
Perhaps it is not in square, and this is my problem?
It seemed at the time that the screen fit the housing very tightly, however.
Second, about 4 months ago I was shooting pics of climbers.
at the end of the day my gear was all in a nicely padded camera bag,
but it rolled down a hill about 10 meters. All seemed to work just fine after however.
Anyways now it seems what I see through the viewfinder as level does not produce level images.
Any guesses?
I think I probably need to put it in the shop.
Thanks for your insights.

if you use the level indicator in the camera and ignore the vf is it producing level images? If so it sounds like the screen is misaligned. If you have the camera's auto level function on and they aren't level then it needs calibration. You could try reseating the focus screen before sending in since they will be charging you money for the job if it isn't a warranty issue.

An easy way to check is to take a photo of your camera in a mirror. If it's level, the fault is you or the focusing screen. If it's crooked you have a sensor issue.

Probably not the issue here, but just an anecdote:
I had an issue with having to rotate all my photos 1.3 degrees clockwise. Same angle for all photos. Giving my camera to someone else to shoot made level photos. So, I figured it was me, not the camera.
The problem was fixed after I went to the physio!
Turned out my neck was crooked to the left and my 'brain' had decided on a new 'horizontal'.

My issue is when I use the optical viewfinder only.
I do not use the built in level feature.

The brain plays funny tricks. I was recently on my first sailboat ride. The boat was leaning about 20 degrees as we headed toward shore. I was in the cockpit and decided to shoot the shoreline through the mast and rigging. Naturally, I was also leaning at nearly 20 degrees. I knew my body would interpret level in relation to my position, with the mast defining vertical. I very deliberately tilted my camera using the oncoming shoreline as horizontal - or so I thought. As it happens, my photo was still tilted by nearly 5 degrees.

Make sure that "Horizon Correction" in the Record menu if OFF. It's an unreliable feature.

The focusing screen has no influence on the issue.
