Metz 36 AF with old lens

I'm looking to get my first flash gun to go with my Pentax K-x. I've got a pretty tight budget since im a poor phd student. After a quick look I've found the Metz 36 to be around my area. However, I tend to use older pentax-M lens on the K-x since I started photography with an inherited K100/ME Super. The only autofocus lenses I have are the kit and 50-200mm. Will the Metz flash be compatible with the k-x/M-lens setup?

Thanks

I don't believe that flash will be useful without a lens that has A contacts. It does not have its own light sensor and it doesn't appear to have any manual power settings, so it will fire at full power every shot with an M lens.

Do not, I repeat, do not buy a flash unless it has Auto mode and power ratio settings in manual mode.
