B+w cpl

I was on ebay looking to find a 77mm B+W CPL when I came across this seller. Please let me know if you understand what the description means under "Specifications". For all I know it seems to have been copy pasted

Any idea what will be a good price to pay for a good 77mm B+W or Tiffen CPL?

A real one tends to be much more than what they are charging.
I've been quoted $118 for a B&W MC 67mm Circular Polarizer here in around Boston.
Watch out for the many dealers in Asia, it is common enough they sell counterfeit filter.

My case...
HOYA PRO-1 SHMC 77mm UV normally about $65

I found one from one of those Hong Kong outfits and they were asking $25 delivered. When I got it, the first thing I could see was the SHMC coating was not there not a HMC, not a MC... infact, no coating at all... plain glass. I don't even think it blocks UV light. Tried to refund and they claimed it was never received.

It's with 95% probability a fake and not even circular, but a linear one.

I have a B&W 49 mm MRC (not the "slim") and I think I spent over $60 for it so their $73 price is pretty good for a 77mm. B&W are excellent filters. I bought mine from BH photo along with some other stuff. I don't remember the exact price I paid but it wasn't cheap. Since I have several lenses I can use it on, I wanted a good quality filter and I think the price I paid was pretty good at the time I bought it. I always check prices from several places. B&H photo sells the slim for $80. The comments say that the clip on lens caps won't attach and there are no threads to stack another filter but otherwise does the job. This is B&W's cheapest CPL. The MRC's are a lot more.

Reeftool - Thanks for the info. Did you mean the MRC's are more expensive filters in the B+W brand of filters?
