How to try out a camera before purchase

Does anyone have any sugguestions on how to try a new camera before purchase? We used to have a Wolf Camera store in our area, and they would let you try out a camera for five days and bring it back, if everything was in order. Years ago, I was able to try a Canon, Nikon, & my Pentax K10D (which I decided on). I've been having some focusing problems, that no one can seem to define where it's coming from except maybe user error. I have been wanting to upgrade, but don't know whether I want to stick with Pentax, or maybe switch to one of the other brands. I would very much like to try out the K5 for a few days and see how it works for me. However, I don't live in an area that has "rental" equipment, and I just don't know of any way to try it out without "purchasing" it for "life". Any ideas?

Rent it online: Bodies & Accessories

I have rented lenses from them many times but not camera body. Reasonable prices for lenses. Camera body rental not as cheap...

If you don't want to spend money just to try out some gear, if you buy it from a reputable dealer, such as B&H or Adorama, they'll let you return it if you're not satisfied for whatever reason. As long as you have a credit card, you won't end up paying a dime unless you like what you bought

i woudnt waste your time renting unless you wanted to learn each camera one by one which could take quite a while. Try dpreview. But i want a K5 and have no intentions on comparing it to others, theres a lot of sites out there comparing it, and even beating a 5D mark II which is a well respected full frame camera. I would only want to compare a K5 and a K5II
