Help with altering settings for sigma lens

Hi, I bought a K-01 and love it , but bought a sigma zoom lens the other day. Initially it zoomed and was great but my son got hold of it and I think changed a setting so it will not zoom automatically. When I put the lens on it comes up manual focus ...how do I alter the settings to get back to automatic and also when I turn on the camera words saying focal length comes on. I really need help please. Thanks

Maybe you can try the MF/AF button switch on the camera, and check the A setting on the lens.

It sounds like the camera is seeing the lens as a manual without any contacts, like the contacts on the lens are not making contact with the camera. Did he get anything on the lens?, or drop it or bang it into anything? Does it still fit correctly on the camera? The lens may have a focus switch, but no other settings.

Ramseybukeye. I can totally see what your saying and how that could happen , but the lens seem fine..they are fitting on and nothing is damaged. My son who used it is 19 ...and I was with him when he was using it. I thought he must have altered a setting but it does not appear he did. It's so annoying !

Your lens could be in a macro mode. Some lens can be put into a macro mode by a button on the side of the lens, or by turning the barrel to a specific focal point or focusing range.

What do you mean by Zooms automatically? do you mean Auto Focus? what is the lens (Besides just a Sigma) can you give us some more information so we help a little better.
