Repair K10

I have crippled K10. It will not autofocus or set aperture. I have to do it manually, so I can only use lenses that have visible aperture ring. Instead of repairing/replacing this camera, I just held on to it and bought a nice used K20 from Keh camera. Minimum repair cost was quoted at $205 plus freight, and I got the K20 in perfect condition for only about $100 more. I can still use the crippled K10 by setting my own aperture, shutter speed, and manual focus. It would be easier to focus if it had a split screen. I wonder if anybody has any cheap ideas on repair or other comments on the general situation. Thanks.

Did you try cleaning the contacts on the camera body & lens with a bit of alcohol or contact cleaner?
