Does your K5 retain date and time settings after removing battery?

Hmm... mine doesn't since I bought it used 8 months ago in mint condition (only 300 shutter count). I thought it's normal and usually doesn't bother me since I'm using battery grip. Battery is set to use grip first so it leaved a charge battery on the body, but when it's time to change the battery at the body It's always asking to set time and date after.

I believe there's a capacitor in the camera that keeps the clock running when there's no main battery inserted. I don't think it lasts for more than 12-24h, but it could be that yours is broken. Other users have had this happen with different camera models - see the similar threads list at the bottom of the page.
