K-30

Is buying a camera online safe? Who generaly has the best prices? Looking for a K-30 with the 18-135mm lens in ebay. Any last second suggestions before pulling the triger?

I would make sure you are buying from an authorized retailer, otherwise you right not getting any warranty coverage. The current price for that kit is $979. Anything cheaper may be grey market.

Here's a link to the kit at Adorama, one of the most trusted Pentax retailers:
Pentax K-30 Digital SLR Camera with DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR Zoom Lens, Black 15601

Add it to cart to see the lower $979 price.

Thanks. Done! I have to admit. I went to Best Buy to play with different cameras and was complitely intimidated by my lack of knowledge ans the operation of a dslr camera. Oh well!

I am glad I came across this thread and that you pointed out the "cart price". I have been following prices as I am getting ready to make the same purchase. The cheapest I have seen is $899 from a authorized dealer online. PM me and I can send you a link (I am still new here and don't want to violate forum rules). Anyway, that is good to know that I should check my prices in cart to be sure I am seeing the lowest price. Also, I believe someone suggested even giving Adorama or B&H a call and they might be able to go even cheaper.

Hmm, care to share what exactly you did? I add the K-30 with the 18-135mm kit to my cart and it is $979.

Ok Language barrier. I'm bilingual but English is my second language and sometimes I think in Spanish and write in English and the meaning gets skewed. What I ment to say in fewer words was that I was looking at prices in ebay and most where over the $1,000.00 mark and some over $1,100.00. Buying at Andorama like suggested and for the price you correctly indicate prooved to be cheaper. Nontheless, it came to about the same since I purchased a battery holder and requested express shipping.

I would steer clear from a few

But with Pentax being hard to find at local shops, most of us don't have a choice but to buy online. I have bought twice from Amazon for my K-x and K-30 and have not had a problem, but if I were to buy from some other onlne dealer, I would definately do some research on them first.
