Bigma battery drain.

My new Bigma works great with my K5 and Pentax lithium Dl-190 battery but It will not fire with my replacement non Pentax battery that works well with all my other lenses. The battery is a couple of years old.Any suggestions? I would think that a new battery is in order.--charliezap

The Pentax battery checks out 8.1 volts at full charge. The other is 7.9 volts-not a big diffence I think. The mirror hangs up with the non Pentax battery using the Bigma.--charliezap

That is actually a very big and significant difference, the battery is ready for replacement.

I tested the Bigma with my third party no-name battery and it works fine.
Probably just a bad one on your end?

Thanks Amy.
Just a little testing in the backyard, I think I'm going to like it.

You can tell if the battery capacity is low by how long it takes to charge from (almost) flat. The longer the better.
