My experience with Sandisk is the opposite of most -- I had 3 of 4 Extreme III 20 Mb/sec 4GB cards just lose their lock tabs though I never touched them and baby my cards -- made the cards unusable. Covered under warranty, but a PIA. I've used Transcends for 12 years without a hitch, but no one card continuously for more than a couple of years -- memory requirements have increased quickly, and I moved on to larger cards as needed.

Thanks for the advice everyone
I bought a Lexar professional sdxc 64 gig 400x at a deal I couldn't turn down...regular 179 for 79...hope I have better luck. Normally I wouldn't get such a big one, but if I ever use the video on the k5iis I think the more storage the better

Thanks again

Randy

I've only used SanDisk Extreme and Ultra (pre-Extreme) -- basically I find the current top-of-the-line ones when I need a new one. I'm still using every one I ever bought and have never had a single glitch. Only buy from reputable dealers -- there are millions of SanDisk counterfeits out there...

I started using Lexar cards in my K200 and now use them in my K-30. I've never had any issues with them.

I have used Sandisk, but now mostly use a couple of Lexar Professionals and just got an Eye-Fi Pro. I also have a couple of Transcends and a Patriot. I have had one problem with a piece of plastic breaking with one of the cards, but it did not affect the card's operation and the manufacturer replaced it.

I accidentally left a Sandisk Extreme III 8GB card (not in its case) in my jeans coin pocket. It went through a full washer & dryer and came out unscathed. That was 2 years ago and I'm still using that card today in my K20d.

Sandisk but only black or red ones. The blue ones are less reliable. Still, they are more reliable than off-brand ones but even in Sandisk there are differences.

Lexar Professionals too are absolutely excellent. Contrarily to the Sandisk ones, I have never seen one fail.

Because of my work, I have had over a hundred cards and really Lexar has always been top, followed by Sandisk and then Kingston. You will notice that the
better ones also come with a lifetime warranty.
