My new X5

Now my wife says i am paranoid, but should my flash on my X5 have a very slight movement left to right when open. It is slight........

I presume this and your build quality post are related?

Simple answer - yes. Why? Because it needs to be free to pop up, it's made from plastic, there are always manufacturing tolerances, etc.

The pop-up flash on any camera from any manufacturer will have slight lateral movement. Don't worry about it. Your wife is right. Just enjoy your new X-5.

Anybody got an answer to this one. I was trying to take a photo with my X5 in a very dark room, pitch black. with the flash on and the camera on Auto Picture. I pressed the shutter and waited for the image to appear on the rear screen...and waited, and waited. It did appear but took a while. I tried to take a flash picture in a room that was not that dark and it did not happen. strange........
