SD Cards ? Why no ........

Why no SD card section ? Did I miss it ? ( if so = apologies )

With digital so dominant , mainstream etc , I would have thought SD cards would be given more prominence ... ( like lenses ) Since they are so integral with photography these days ...

Rather mundane items, I suppose, especially if machine-gun shooting or video is of little interest.

Unlike other parts of photography though they make very little difference in how the image turns out.

A 16mb SD card will have no image quality difference to a 32gb SDHC one.
Only difference is the 16mb will take ages to save an image, and be full after only a few shots.

It would be like having a section devoted to lens caps. There's a million brands out there, but they all do the same thing.

"Image quality"?

Of course the card won't make a difference in image quality, but reliability. durability, and actual speed are all concerns.

Sorry but that's not true, the size of the card does not need to indicate the speed of the card.
Speed and size are two sperate things.
So an SDXC is not faster as SDHC for example, i know some people think this.

There is a thread where users post there test results for SD cards and there hav been some threads about reliability and durability.
I don't see how we can fill a corner with only these 3 questions.

I believe this was pointed at me.
I said that the speed was not connected to the size of the card, i never used the words old or new.
Sure newer cards are be getting faster but class 2 and 4 cards are still getting produced though.
So that a card is newer does not need to mean it's faster.

And the biggest cards are often slower since they are pushing it.
You can get 8GB and 16GB cards with a speed of 45MB/s but 64GB is at 30MB/s i believe.

Yes and?
You did say that stuff in an open conversation, if you did not want someone else to hear or comment on it then you should do it privately.

You can get SD cards that go up to around 90-95MB/s now.

Sorry, I'm aware they're two separate things.

It was more to illustate the main things that can be different between brands. Size, and speed.
