BW Images in MX 1

I just picked up my MX 1 - I have set the Custom Image to BW and happily shot some pictures.
when I import the photos to Lightroom they show up as color photos not BW - even tough ont eh viewfinder they have come up with BW.
is it a filter that only works in camera .
I am shooting in Raw - which may be the answer ??

yes, that's exactly why. If you want to keep the B&W in camera photos shoot jpeg or Raw+jpeg. Let's see some of those MX-1 photos!!

Yes, bw only affects jpegs. But this also means it affects the preview jpeg of the raw files. But in lightroom you can easily make it bw and have a lot of freedom over what type of bw (in terms of contrast, brightness, colour filters..). There are some presets, you can find some more presets online, or you can do stuff by hand. Good luck.

Keep it on RAW, Lightroom has a great BW settings tab.

RAW always records the full color image. You should still be able to generate a B&W file in post

Thanks

Thanks, got it sorted.
Will shoot raw, but keep LCD monochrome for composition and convert to BW using Lightroom or Silver Effects.
Love the MX1 as a have with me always camera - K5 a bit heavy for that.
Working great, bit slow to save the images and I am sure one day I will stop trying to turn it on with the lens cap still on !!
Pentax On I say.
