K-5 not asking to focal length

My K-5 has stopped asking for focal length when I mount a legacy lens. Perhaps I set a setting that defeats this but I cannot figure out which one. Any help appreciated. Thanks Bob Bryer

Is Shake Reduction turned off? Or are you using a mode that automatically turns off SR?

Sorry to grab an old thread, but I turned shake reduction off the other day when I was using my tripod and now I can't turn it back on. I don't think I changed anything else. Any ideas?

^ check your shutter mode. The 2 and 12 second timers disable SR.

Well, I'll be. Right you are.

So, when I'm using a tripod, if I use the timed shutter release, I don't need to also disable SR? Good to know.

Thanks for the quick and accurate response.

I personally don't like how the SR automatically turns off when in self-timer mode. There are times when you still need to leave it on when shooting from a tripod.
