Sensor ratio

Have i not set up my K5 properly as the images produced seem wider in ratio terms than i was getting with my EPL1 Olympus, will this affect printing or have I missed a setting.

Any help gratefully recieved

Your Olympus produces 4:3 files while your K-5 will produce 3:2 files. Most sensors smaller than APS-C have an aspect ratio of 4:3, while most DSLRs produce 3:2 images just like they did back in the film days.

You can of course always crop

Micro fourth thirds, as the name implies, output images in 4:3 (width:height) format
Pentax DSLR's output images in the 3:2 format.

Of course you can crop either to different ratios but you will lose resolution.

Great bike shots btw, especially the first. You must be pleased with your K5.
