Wow that's purple! Are you using an ND filter?

OK, just to get some things straight:
  1. That image was taken recently, yes? Because the date in the EXIF says 2006
  2. Did the camera work correctly the last time you used it? And how long ago was that?
  3. Are you using any kind of filter on the front?
  4. Was this taken during daytime or at night? Were there any lights on, street lights or field lights?
  5. What is your white balance setting?

The full exif also shows you're using an old manual lens, but the camera is prohibiting non-A lenses...

Yep, or there is something wrong with the contacts so that the camera is not reading the lens.

The pictures were taken today, I must change the date
It worked fine in the summer of last year
there is no filter being used
pictures taken in daylight ( some sunshine) no artificial lights
The manual WB measurement says entire screen.
the pictures have a purple tint with the zoom lens I used and its original, though not as strong

Try setting your WB to auto and take some test shots. You might try a shot in the house just to see if it changes.

I can only think of four things that would cause this:
1) Your white balance was set manually to something bizarre, not likely and I'm not sure you can get it that far off.
2) Some kind of filter over the lens
3) Really weird lighting from street lights or stage lights
4) A fault in your sensor

Based on your responses so far, I'm leaning toward the sensor has an issue. I would set the WB on auto or daylight and do some test shots with different lenses to be sure. But after that I think you are looking at repair or replacement.

You might try doing a factory reset, not sure how to do that on your camera but that would set everything back to the defaults and eliminate any possibility of it being something set wrong. But unfortunately it is not looking good.

I find the black gradient bar on the left even more mysterious.

EXIF says it was set to auto. Normally, W?B would have been my first guess too, but with it set to auto and off that much, I think he may have some issues with camera that may not be user - fixable.

I agree, just trying to hit all the possibilities before assuming it has to be the sensor. But I really don't have any other thoughts except that the sensor has given up.

MY DL did that a while back. Some how the white balance got off. With out a flash and in auto WB the shots were purple. You can re calibrate the white balance on the DL. Press the Fn button that will bring up the 4 way menu. press the left button to enter the white balance settings. Go down to the bottom the last one says adjust. press the right button to enter adjustment screen. point the camera at a WHITE object and press the shutter button. Your WB should be recalibrated. Try another shot and see if that helped Please let us know. That took care of the problem with my DL

Hi

May not be the sensor per se but a software colour management glitch or fault. Do not know if this is even possible but perhaps worthy of consideration.

Greetings

Looks like some green is still there, but the quality is pretty poor.
I would suggest factory default.
