Achiever 260t on a K1000

can anyone gice me any advice on using a achiever 260t flash mount. i dont normaly use a flash on my k1000 but when i do the picture looks only half exposed im not sure if its the flash sync or not. any advice on how to get the flash and the camera to work together.

The flash sync speed on the K1000 is 1/60th of a second, there should be a red "x" next to it, shutter speeds faster than that will result in only partially exposed prints.
