Cleaning the inside lens barrel

Just bought a used lens through eBay. M 100 F2.8. Very happy with the purchase.

The lens is in great condition. Just noticed a white mark inside the barrel near the mount. It doesn't affect the glass though.

I tried to whip it off but it doesn't come off. Wonder if I should try to use some solution to clean it or not.

Does it affect image quality? If not, leave it alone.

Could it affect image quality in the future? If not, leave it alone.

Are you about to sell it and it lowers the resale price? If not, leave it alone.

You might cause image quality problems or reduce resale value by trying to fix a problem that does not effect image quality!

That's my not so humble opinion.

I have to agree with lmd: if it has no effect on the optics, leave it alone.

IQ, small size and affordable price make this lens a sure keeper.

As long as it doesn't spread, I will take your advise and won't take any unnecessary risk. Thanks!
