Pentax SMC 1:2 50mm f2 problem?

I recently bought a Pentax SMC 1:2 50mm f2 and tried it on my K-30 but it doesn't seem to take pictures. Excuse me if i'm stupid in all these mounts and whatnots, but do i have to purchase something to get it to work with my K-30?

Really hope someone can help me, thanks.

Go to menu, rightmost tab and select to allow aperture ring. And look for one of the tutorials on how to meter and take photos with manual lenses, there are two or three good ones.
Just switch to M mode, turn off auto ISO, and use green button to meter when the light changes. Use focus peaking to help you with focusing, or learn zone focusing, or focus trapping (aka Catch in focus, CiF)
