Tripod mount ring for Pentax F 300 4.5 and A 200 4.0 macro

Hi!
Could anybody suggest me how to find a tripod mount ring/foot for Pentax F 300 4.5 and A 200 4.0 macro? Do any third part tripod collars suit these lenses? On ebay there are tons of tripod collars of Canon and Nikon but nothing for Pentax...
Thanks a lot for your advice!
Konrad

I dont have either but I remember, according to Ron aka "brandrx" the resident long lens expert at DPReview ( Pentax DSLR talk) the one from the Canon 70-200 f4 works on the FA*300

Re: Nice fitting tripod ring for FA* 300/4.5: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review (i'm not sure if PF lets links to DPR go through.)
(edit: yes PF do link to DPR, wouldn't it be nice if DPR would offer us the same courtesy)

ebay link within that post

they also warn just check for rough edges on the inner surface of the el cheapo ones. The silver paint on the FA*300 is quite delicate.

Oops Sorry I've just read your post again and realised you said its for an F 300 /4.5 not a FA 300/4.5.

The F300 had a dedicated removable mount whereas the FA300 did not have one at all.

I do remeber there was another person with a similar plight, but i just found that thread and doesnt appear to have found a solution.

Maybe PM one of the parties involved to se if they found something suitable.
It says that the A 200/4 foot fits onto the F 300/4.5 but the original F300/4.5 foot does not fit on the A 200/4. strange?

just a thought, Custom made?
Recently "StigVidar" custom made a mount for his F 250-600. Is the F300/4,5 a similar design concept?

Hi!
Thank you very much for all your suggestions!!! The threads you pointed out were very useful! Seems to be a pretty complicated issue... so I hope that both lenses are light enough to stay steady if I mount directly a camera to a good tripod... Btw - pretty sad to see how much better and more complete Pentax offer used to be...
my best, Konrad

If you are looking for a tripod ring, it will largely pend on the diameter of the lens barrel where you intend to mount the ring.

For my Q/PK adaptor I discovered that the ring from my sigma 70-200/2.8, when shimmed with a 3mm thick leather strap, was perfect. Same for the canon 100/2.8 macro ring ( that I ultimately bought for this specific use. Cost me a whopping $10 for an aluminum one

The canon adaptor is for something like a 72-73mm barrel, thebQ/PK adaptor is 68 mm

I'm not sure that I would be happy to mount use the cameras tripod mount to support either of those lenses. At 900g they're not that light and at $1000+ they're not that cheap either.

The heavy lenses and physically long lenses (with centre of mass out from the flange) would put a bit of torque on the mounting flange.

Pentax don't put a mount on the DA*200 but I guess its a choice of a 800g lens on offset from the camera mount or a 750-900g body offset from the lens mount.

Measure the lens body OD with a vernier caliper and see if there is an ring mount that could be adapted.
