photo size to A4

Hi again...first of all thanx for all the help with my previous question.

This one is a bit more important to me and i did try to search for similar topics but i couldnt find any (probably cause i dont know what to look for)

Is there a way the photos i take to be on the exact right size for printing on A4 paper?

thanx,
Maria

Generally you will have to crop your photos, since your sensor's aspect ratio is not the same as the dimensions of the paper.

What you can do is to get the exact measurements of A4 paper and you should be able to set the crop tool to a fixed ratio once the A4 paper size is entered. Then all you do is select boarder less printing, and print to fit. Any crop will then be perfectly set

The aspect ratio of your Pentax is is exactly correct for 4x6 or 8x12. A a4 sheet of paper is 8.3x11.7 so as Adam and Lowell said you will have to crop your image a bit or use print to fit in the printer instructions which will give you a white band on one edge.

While I have other tools, my two primary tools are Photoshop Elements 11 or Lightroom 4 (both use the same Adobe Camera RAW, and there is a plug-in for LR that allows PSE to be used much like its much more expensive big sibling). While you can set a specific crop in LR, PSE makes it especially easy to set up a constrained crop based on paper size.

The other thing you can do, and not all photo programs allow this in their print dialog is to select either print to fit width or lenght
