The nice thing about the 18-135 is that you will probably always find a use for it. You may never need to buy another zoom. But the 18-55, while it's okay, is quickly superseded by other lenses in your collection. So then you are either stuck with a lens you don't use that much, or you wind up selling it at a minor loss.
