K-5ii start up noise

I was wondering the same thing and was directed to this forum. I also turned off the dust-removal at start up as a test and the camera still makes the same 'small gear grind noise'. It seems the noise is universal to all K-5ii. Mine also makes the same noise when 'waking up' after it has powered down while the switch is still in the 'on' position.

If your in the presence of camera owners of the "other" brands, then that's just the sound of their jealousy.
