Kr Live view focusing questions

Hi All,

when using the live view and zoom in (with the INFO button) to fine focus, i find that if i zoom in a few levels the image on LCD screen has a lot of noise... to the point where if I zoom in all the way, it's difficult to see whether the focus is there or not because everything seems to be so "noisy".
Not sure if i described this correctly, if i find a way i will share a snapshot of the live view LCD later today.

If this expected?

Thanks!

Yes, basically all cameras are like this because they need to use a higher ISO to correctly expose the LV image. (for what you see in live view, the min shutter speed is around 1/60s)

Thanks Adam!

I mainly use it so that when using manual focus i can be sure about the focus...
I find it difficult to MF using viewfinder alone if I want to be certain that something is in perfect focus, e.g. a person's eye...
maybe an eyepiece? would that help?

LV zoom is one of the best ways to check if something's in focus. Newer cameras, like the K-30, also offer a focus peaking option that highlights edges that are in focus.
