ah - that's what it means when I see 'minty' on eBay then....


I just thought it was odd that a lense being sold/bought as 'mint' would have sticky aperture blades....

Thanks Steve.

It's a Pentax-DA 50-135/2.8 and I'm also surprised. For maybe two years it's been overexposing but it's been getting worse. A week ago I moved the aperture arm and noticed that it's really stiff. After some wiggling it seemed to loosen up a bit. I messaged Eric a few days ago but no response yet. Perhaps I'll try Sun Camera Service. Thanks for the info.

That sounds like mechanical binding, not sticky blades. Good luck with getting resolution.

I get the candy cane reference now... lol

Yes. I was thinking of binding too as it did seem unusually stiff. Perhaps I am hoping it's not serious. It's a pity. Such a nice lens. Not going to spend a fortune fixing it though. Fingers crossed for a nice Pentax full frame release.
