Pentax K-5 and Yongnuo 560 III

Hello everyone,

I have a k-5 and would like to connect it to a Yongnuo 560 III (wired). I'm not sure what type of sync cable to buy. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

Joe

You could use a pc to pc cable to connect the K-5's flash sync port (the plug right below the popup flash button) to the speedlite. But since the YN-560 III has a wireless receiver in it, I don't know why you wouldn't get an RF-602 or 603 transmitter instead. PC cables are a real pain in the a** to use. They fall out easily, bend when stepped on, can be tripped over, and they're not all that cheap.

Just my $0.02.

Can we assume you don't want to use it mounted on the K-5 hotshoe?

Thank you for responding.

Ale_guy, I will be using the camera and flash in a photobooth setup where the equipment will be static. The camera will be in an enclosed box and the flash/umbrella setup will be mounted above the box. I would like a wire solution for this so that I don't have to worry about batteries being drained in the transmitters.

p38arover, I did see that but i don't really see the pro to using a hotshoe adapter if I'm not using a P-TTL flash (I could be wrong on that).

I was over whelmed when doing a simple search online for PC sync cords and I saw male/female, screw type PC connectors, 3.5mm, 2.5mm mono jack...

Thanks

Joe

The K-5 sync port uses universal PC cable style like this>

I don't know what is on the Yongnuo side.

The screw version of the above looks like this, you can also use it but it takes a few moments longer to attach/remove if you want to use the screw function. (Ignore the phono plug)
