The LCD screen on my Pentax K-30 has gone foggy after being sprayed with a fire truck hose. I stored it in rice overnight and the next morning it wouldn't turn on at all. I have not yet had an opportunity to take it to a local camera shop to confirm the presumed issued of the electronics in the LCD being shot. As I will most likely have to send it off to Pentax to have the LCD screen replaced I am curious as to the approximate cost of having it replaced. Has anyone else had this issue with their DSLR? How much did it cost in your case to have the LCD replaced?

I had the experience a year or so ago involving a K10D that I had to replace the rear LCD. Upon pricing it out I learned it would cost about $60.00(Canada) for the screen. I Goggled a DIY breakdown of K10 & dismantled it quite easily.....(the tutorial was very descriptive). I never did order the LCD but intend to when time allows?????
I`m not sure what it will cost to have the LCD replaced by a repair shop but if you`re a hands -on person it`s not that hard..... good luck!

I dropped my camera and it cracked the LCD screen so that 2/3 of the screen is not viewable. have you replace the screen in your K10D yet and if so , how did it work. If you had it replaced, what was the cost of having it replaced and do you recommend someplace to send it?

I ultimately didn't have it replaced. When I took it to my local shop for someone to actually look at it as opposed to describing it over the phone. The moisture in the LCD cleared up after a while. The problem was a small amount of rust.
